How to apply blush to make it look natural?

I stopped using blush because everytime I apply it, it looks fake. I'm using a Covergirl pink/peach blush and I have a powder brush. So where/how to apply to make it look natural and sun kissed?How to apply blush to make it look natural?
First of all it looks more natural if you apply it with a face/powder brush. Tap the brush a little into the lid before you put it on so it doesn't get too much color on your face. If you want more of a sunkissed look use a bronzer. Also, check your pressure on how you apply your make-up with a brush and how you pick up product from the container. Blushes come in different finishes from frosty, matte, sheer, etc. If you have a powder brush which coverage is a bit stronger and you find yourself applying too much color, blot off a bit of product from the brush by working some of the product off on a tissue before you apply it on your face.
